Abstract

754,468. Sinks. EXCELARC ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and CHANY, F. Nov. 23, 1954 [March 20, 1954], No. 8203/54. Class 26. A metal sink 10 has an open-topped offset waste chamber 11 welded or otherwise secured to its wall and a perforated stainless steel filter 18 forms a detachably mounted partition preventing waste solids passing into the chamber, a separate stand pipe 15 being provided for controlling the outlet from the chamber. The waste chamber may also extend inwardly underneath the sink where it is covered by a dished flange 21 on the filter, which can be removed by sliding upwardly to disengage it from brackets 23. In alternative forms the sink has the waste chamber at one of its corners or in the side provided with a draining board 19, and the filter 18 may have a hinged perforated top to shroud the waste chamber.
