A clasp for attaching a wrist watch or other article to the end of an articulated band such as a watch bracelet comprises a box-like member 4 open at its bottom whereby it can be releasably fitted over and enclose the end member 1 of the band, the outer edge of the box-like member being formed with an elongated hook 12 in the form of a substantially tubular lug to engage a loop on one side of a watch casing. Fig. 5 shows the underside of the box-like member, one side of which is formed with tubular lugs 9 to receive a hinge pin 10 which engages a hinge lug 11 on the tubular hook 12, the opposite longitudinal edge 8 of the box being cut-away to form a recess 7 so that when the box is pressed down upon the end member 1 of the bracelet the ends of the recess abut against the ends of the connecting device 2, Fig. 1 (not shown), between the end link and the link adjacent to it. The box 4, which is a close frictional fit upon the end member 1, is retained in position thereon by a locking-device comprising a member 14 hinged upon the pin 11 by tubular lugs 13 and provided at each end with an offset arm 15 formed with a recess 17 in its outer edge so that when the member 14 is swung into the closed position the recesses 17 are engaged by detent projections 16 on the adjacent end walls 6 of the box member. The device is modified when required for an articulated bracelet wherein the longer sides of the box-like members 18, Fig. 14, are inclined at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet, the sides of the transition member 19 and the corresponding sides of the member hinged beneath it being made of such relative lengths that the tubular lug 12 lies perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet.
