A splash-plate 1 to prevent electrolyte spray from reaching the gas vent of an accumulator rests on the electrode plates with its ends beneath the plate straps 4 as shown in Fig. 7. To prevent lateral movement the splash-plate is provided with curved ribs 5 which engage the straps 4. The plate is also provided with strengthening ribs 6, 7.
