Abstract

753,703. Hydraulic shock-absorbers. KONING, A. A. DE, and KONING, K. K. K. DE. May 17, 1954 [May 18, 1953], No. 14472/54. Class 108 (3). In a telescopic hydraulic shock-absorber having an annular valve 25 engaging a seat on the piston-rod side of the piston to close bores 24 (Fig. 4) leading between opposite sides of the piston, and a valve 29 seated under spring pressure on the other side of the piston to control flow through bores 32, the face of the valve 29 is roughened. The bores 32 are disposed in a sector-shaped zone of the cross-section of the piston. The bores 24 open into a groove in the right-hand piston face defined by circular lands 22, 23. A further flow path through the piston is provided by passages 15, 16, and ports 19, 20. The latter ports can be more or less obturated by screwing in a member 18, as described in Specification 666,116. This is effected by engaging recesses 21 on the member 18 with projections formed on the base-valve assembly (Fig. 1, not shown) of the shock-absorber. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 666,116.
