Abstract
Impure Ti is treated to remove contaminants and to render the metal amenable to are melting by leaching with an acidic solution containing 10-20 per cent of a nitrate compound on an NO3 basis, or containing 10-70 per cent of nitric acid, or containing an organic ferric compound.
