[Also in Groups XVII and XXX] A device for filling a container with bobbins received from a winding head has a shoot for guiding the bobbins to a filling hole in the bottom of the container beneath which a lever is located for actuation from the winding mechanism to push the bobbins into the container. The bobbins may be guided by a simple arcuate shoot but in the preferred arrangement bobbins 8 from the winding head drop into a funnel 16 from which they are led to a shoot 7a provided with a pivot 14 and counterweight 15 so that, on receiving a bobbin, the shoot 7a tilts and delivers the bobbin 8 to the filling point 9 with its direction reversed. Each bobbin 8 is held temporarily in the funnel 16 by a stop plate 26 which is actuated at the appropriate time by the winding mechanism to allow the bobbin to fall further. At the same time, the winding mechanism through levers 30, 33 causes an end of a lever 10 to rise and push a preceding bobbin into the container 6 through a self-closing filling hole. As soon as the container 6 is full, a lever 35a is raised to stop the winding machine. Specification 751,397 is referred to.
