751,916. Automatic lifts. OTIS ELEVATOR CO. Aug. 4,1954 [Aug. 10, 1953], No. 22598/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 78 (3). A multicar lift system is provided with means for dispatching cars under different programmes and has automatic programme selecting means controlled by the ratio of up to down traffic conditions. The system is adapted to operate under five programmes viz:-(a) balanced, (b) heavier up, (c) peak up, (d) heavier down, (e) peak down, and the ratio of up to down traffic conditions is determined by the loading of the cars, the number of calls from the landings or cars and the early or late arrival of cars at the bottom terminal. Regular peaks are anticipated by a clock which distinguishes non- working days. Specification 732,754 and U.S.A. Specification 2,589,242 are referred to.
