Abstract

1453080 Automatic control of elevators HITACHI Ltd 14 Nov 1973 [20 Nov 1972] 52823/73 Heading G3N In a multi-car lift control system, in which a hall call, when registered, is allocated either to a specified car or to a specific group containing a plurality of cars operating in adjacent hoistways, the first car of the group to pass the hall in the requisite direction responding to the hall call, the hall call is cancelled only when either the specified car, or member of the specific group is decelerating in the vicinity of, or stops at, the hall, stoppage of other cars or groups at the hall in response to car calls not enabling de-registering of the call. The allocation of a hall call to a given car causes energization of a corresponding relay, Fig. 10 (not shown), energizing a guide lamp for the hall and direction, Fig. 11 (not shown), and enabling the energization of one or other of relays (USTA, DSTA), Fig. 12 (not shown) when the car stops in response to the hall call. Contacts (DSTAa2), or (USTAa2), Fig. 13 (not shown) then enable the hall call registration holding relay (e.g. HC9D) to be by-passed and the hall call is cancelled. Should any car stop at the hall in response to a car call, relay (CSTA Fig. 12) is energized, but the hall call is not cancelled. In the embodiment of Figs. 14, 15 (not shown), the relays of (Fig. 10) for each car, {e.g. cars A, B}in a group of adjacent cars have contacts e.g. (Ry9UAa2, Ry9UBa2), (Fig. 14), enabling the cancellation of the hall call by means of relays (USTA), or (DSTA), such contacts for all of the cars in the group, for each hall and direction being in parallel, (Fig. 14). All the cars in a group may share a single guide lamp, (Fig. 15), for each hall and direction. The hall call may be allocated to a specific car, or only to a specific group. A hall call may be allocated to the nearest car to the hall, or there may be provided a zoning system in which a given car is allocated all hall calls between its notional position, and that of the car ahead of it, the cars being regarded as being on a ring, see Figs. 1-6 (not shown). The notional position is advanced with respect to the actual position by 1, 2, or 3 floors depending upon the car's speed, and is also advanced by zero, one, or two floors as a function of the number of calls allocated to the car, the average number of calls per car in the system, and the distance between the car and the succeeding car.
