Abstract
750,378. Door holders and stops. BERG, W. C. VON. April 9, 1954 [May 25, 1953], No. 10481/54. Class 65 (1). A door holder comprises a strip of spring steel or the like, one end of which is adapted to be secured to the floor and the other end to be in contact with and slidable in relation to the floor, the strip being formed at its free end with a ramp and rearward of the ramp, a surface which is engageable with the bottom of the door, either for holding the door open by frictional force, or for serving as an abutment for resisting closing movement of the door. In Fig. 1, the door 9 abuts a rubber stop 5 secured to the end of the strip by a screw 4, the corners of said end also having points 12 which penetrate the floor 3 and the door being held by frictional engagement with the curved upper part 6 of the ramp 10. In Fig. 3 the strip is secured by screws 13 and the door is prevented from closing by a transverse ridge 17 formed at the top of the ramp 16.
