Abstract

A medicine for internal or external use in the treatment of humans or animals comprises a synergistic mixture of carbomycin and streptomycin in the proportions of 5 to 95 per cent carbomycin to 95 to 5 per cent streptomycin. The carbomycin is any therapeutic form of the antibiotic e.g. base, phosphate, hydrochloride, sulphate, tartrate, citrate and fumarate. The streptomycin is any therapeutic form of streptomycin or dihydrostreptomycin such as the base, sulphate, hydrochloride, acetate, citrate and p-aminosalicylic acid. Pharmaceutical forms are solutions, suspensions, powders, ointments, salves, injections in e.g. water or saline; capsules, tablets, elizirs and other oval preparations.
