748,984. Recording-apparatus. MATERIEL INDUSTRIEL SOC. ANON., and CONSTRUCTIONS MECANIQUES SOC. ANON. March 9, 1954 [March 12, 1953], No. 6801/54. Class 106 (4). [Also in Group XXX] Recording-apparatus for determining the warping and buckling of the rails of a railway track comprises two axles one of which is rigidly connected to the frame of a vehicle adapted to move along the rails and the other of which is provided on the vehicle to turn in a vertical plane transverse of the track and means for recording the differences in distances between the ends of the pivoted axle and the frame. As shown, a front axle 1, Fig. 1, is immovably fixed to the frame 2 of a preferably power-driven vehicle, the frame being supported through a universal joint 19 at its back end by a bogie 5 having an axle 4 fixedly secured thereto and an axle 3, 3<SP>1</SP> pivoted thereon by a pivot 7, Fig. 2, on the bearing support 6 of the axle so as to turn in a vertical plane transverse of the track. The axle box 9 at one end is connected by a spring-loaded cable 10 to one end of a wire 13a connected at its other end to a spring-loaded recording stylus 14 movable over an advancing recording sheet on a table 16 secured to the frame 2, the other axle box 9<SP>1</SP> being connected by a spring- loaded cable 11 to a free end of a sheath 13 of the wire 13a, the other end of. the sheath being secured to the table 16. The cables 10, 11 are arranged to have opposite effects on the stylus 14 and are coupled to the axle boxes 9, 9<SP>1</SP> by rollers arranged to 'move in grooves 20 disposed concentrically to the universal joint 19.
