748,235. Measuring humidities electrically. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 25. 1954 [Oct. 23, 1953], No. 29368/53. Class 40(1) Apparatus for 'determining the moisture content of an atmosphere comprises an A.C..bridge circuit having a humiditysensitive resistance element in one arm, in parallel wth a fixed capacitor. In one embodiment (Fig. 1) the sensitive element consists of a conductor 10 embedded edgewise in an insulating member 11 with a conductive coating 12 on part of the surface, so that deposited moisture alters the resistance of the element to produce corresponding values of unbalance current. In another embodiment (Fig. 4) the conductor 15 is cup-shaped and is fitted with a similarly shaped insulating member 17 having a metal coating 18.
