Abstract
747,932. Spring suspensions. PORSCHE, F. May 10, 1954 [Aug. 6, 1953], No. 13530/54. Class 108 (2). In an independent suspension for driven wheels mounted on rockable half-axles in vehicles, wherein when guiding is effected by rocking links controlled by torsion bar springs, the rocking links 10, 11 are arranged on each side of the vehicle above and below each halfaxle 6, are adapted to be twistable and are articulated to a guide member 9 connected to the half-axle. As shown, each upper link 10 is controlled by a torsion spring 12, while the lower links 11 are controlled by additional torsion springs 13 which have a common adjustable abutment. The guide members 9 may be fixedly or rotatably mounted on the half axes, which are universally movable and rotatable. The springs 13 may be disposed at another location to permit the links 11 to be mounted directly on the vehicle frame.
