Abstract

747,782. Wheel rims. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Jan. 7, 1954 [Jan. 30, 1953], No. 436/54. Class 144 (2). To prevent creep on a rim base 1 the integral bead seat portion 8 of a detachable flange 5, normally held in position on the rim by a split locking ring 4 engaged in a rim gutter 3, is formed resilient so that it is pressed onto the rim base by the tyre when inflated. The seat portion, which is coned, may be split as at 5a, Fig. 2, or notched as at 10, Fig. 3.
