747,374. Scoop-arm machines. LUOSSAVAARA - KIIRUNAVAARA AKTIEBOLAG. Jan. 18, 1954 [Jan. 22, 1953], No. 1441/54. Class 78 (3). A mobile machine has a shovel 12 and a holder 9 therefor pivoted to the ends of arms 3 pivoted to the machine, the shovel being tippable laterally relatively to the machine and holder about an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the machine. The arms 3 are raised and lowered by a hydraulic cylinder 5 and the shovel 12 is tipped about pivots 4 by arms 6 operated by hydraulic cylinders 8. The shovel is tipped in a lateral direction by a hydraulic cylinder 18 secured to an arm 15 supported by an axle 16 on a shovel attachment 14 to which the piston-rod 20 is connected. A toothed rack 21 on a part 19 on the arm 15 co-operates with a toothed segment 23 rigid with the holder 9 to tip the shovel. Instead of a hydraulic cylinder an electric motor may be used. The shovel may be provided with a tip 25 and a bifurcated support 27, the rear half of which is pivotally connected with the tractor and the front half being laterally resilient.
