Abstract

747,220. Transistor amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. March 9, 1954 [March 9, 1953], No. 6860/54. Class 40 (6). In a D.C. connected cascaded junction transistor amplifier, a resistor is included in the baseemitter circuit of each transistor, other than the first, to prevent the low input impedance of the transistor from short-circuiting the high impedance circuit of the previous collector circuit. Input signals from source 47, applied to the base-emitter circuit 14, 16, appear in amplified form in the collector-emitter circuit 11, 16 and are fed directly to the base-emitter circuit 19, 20. A resistor 39 in series with the base-emitter circuit 19, 20 increases the resistance presented to the emitter-collector circuit 11, 16. To reduce the loss in gain at high frequencies a capacitor 47 may be added. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the resistor 39 and capacitor 47 are arranged in the emitter load. As an alternative resistors and capacitors may be arranged in each position. Specification 728,129, [Group XXXVI], is referred to.
