Abstract

746,849. Electromagnetic relays. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 19, 1953 [June 24, 1952], No. 17038/53. Class 38(5) A contact spring has a slot located near the contact end so shaped as to allow rotation of a card passing through the slot and to position positively said card against movement longitudinally of the spring. A selector comprises several sets of contact springs 20 and an actuating bar 4. Between pairs of contact spring sets lie fingers 32 so that operation of bar 4 normally has no effect on the contact springs 20 as seen in Fig. 6. When the finger 32 is displaced by a selection means not shown it acts as an interponent between the bar 4 and the selected set of contact springs, as seen in Figs. 7 and 8. - The contact springs are assembled in a card 23 of insulating material, Fig. 3, a partial rotation of the card engaging the sides of the springs in notches 24 in the card. The end of the card 23 engages in a notch in a return spring 26 which locks the card against accidental rotation
