Abstract

746,099. Mathematical drawing-appliances. OZALID CO., Ltd., and DORMAN, S. Jan. 21, 1954, No. 1870/54. Class 97 (3). In drawing instrument including a disc 12, Fig. 1, which may be placed flat on the surface of a drawing board and rotated about its centre, and which has a number of perforations 14 at different radial locations in any of which a pencil or the like may be inserted and a circular line described by rotation of the disc, the disc is located in a circular opening in a surrounding frame 17 the inner wall of which forms a ring bearing within which the disc 12 is rotatable. The inner wall is formed with two stepped flanges 18, 19, Fig. 3, and a flange 16 on disc 12 overlies flange 18 and is held by a circular cover member 20 overlying flange 19 and riveted to frame 17. Disc 12, which is made of transparent plastic, lies just clear of the board on which the instrument is placed, so as to rotate freely, and has a central hole 13. The inner edge of the frame, and the cover-member 20 have graduations 22 constituting a protractor scale. A radial slot 23 provided in disc 12, in conjunction with graduations 22, enables lines to be drawn at any desired angle.
