745,589. Continuous-discharge mixing- machines. GRANT, Ltd., L. C. Oct. 18, 1954 [Oct. 16, 1953], No. 28591/53. Class 86. A device for mixing and dispensing liquids consists of a jacketed tank 1 through which extends a horizontal shaft 3 carrying a disc 5 and radial stirring arms 2 the outer ends of which are bent towards the disc and which, when the shaft is rotated, sweep through and mix the liquid in the lower half of the tank. A stationary wiper blade 6 mounted on the upper end of a delivery spout 7 is adjustably located adjacent one face of the disc. With the blade in its furthest position from the disc no liquid is discharged from spout 7; as it is moved towards the disc the blade skims off an increasing amount of the liquid adhering thereto, so providing a means for controlling the rate of liquid discharge from the machine.
