Abstract
744.947. Glass. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 10, 1954 [Sept. 14, 1953], No. 25336/53. Class 56 A glass composition comprises a major oxidic component consisting of at least one glass-forming oxide selected from silica, germanium dioxide, tellurium dioxide, arsenic oxide, antimony oxide, phosphorous pentoxide, boric oxide and vanadium pentoxide, the vanadium pentoxide comprising at least 50 per cent by weight of the major oxidic component, and a minor component consisting of at least one modifying oxide selected from the oxides of lead, the alkali metals and the alkaline earth metals, the minor component being present in an amount of less than 50 per cent by weight of the composition.
