Abstract
A preparation for controlling infections of the uterus of cows with vibrio foetus comprises a fluid fatty acid glyceride, e.g. peanut oil, the viscosity of which has been increased by the addition of aluminium salts of fatty acids e.g. the monostearate, in which are suspended particles of streptomycin such that the mixture contains 20,000-100,000 i.u. streptomycin per ml. The term "streptomycin" includes dehydrostreptomycin and salts of streptomycin and dehydrostreptomycin. Preferably at least 75 per cent of the streptomycin has a particle size below 0,005 mm. The preparation may additionally contain 1,000-3,000 i.u. of an estrogenic substance per 20 ml, estradiol monobenzoate being specified.
