744,043. Agglutinated fibrous sheet materials. ALGEMEENE KUNSTVEZEL MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. Nov. 15, 1951 [Nov. 15, 1950], No. 26781/51. Class 140. In the manufacture of heat- and soundinsulating materials consisting of glass fibres bonded together by a thermosetting adhesive such as a phenol-formaldehyde resin, excess adhesive is removed, and the adhesive is dried and cured, by the passage of high-velocity streams of superheated steam from orifices 2-4 through a web W of the impregnated glass fibres which is carried past the orifices 2-4 and over collecting chambers 14, 15 by means of co-operating perforated endless bands 8, 9. Excess adhesive ejected from the web by the steam emerging from orifice 2, and the steam from orices 3 and 4, may be recovered and re-used. The spacing between the orifices and collecting chambers is adjustable by screws 16 and 17.
