Abstract

741,668. Clamp fastenings. GRILL FLOORS, Ltd. Dec. 31, 1953 [Dec. 31, 1952]. No. 33134/52. Class 44. A clip for securing a panel composed of spaced metal strips 10 to a support 12, e.g. a bracket, comprises a block 16 having a pair of upstanding walls or ridges 22 designed to lie one on each non-adjacent side of a pair of adjacent strips 10 in the panel, and means e.g. a bolt 18 and nut 20, for deforming a plate 24 arranged between the walls or ridges 22 so as to cause the edges 26 of the plate 24 to grip the said pair of strips and press them tightly against the walls or ridges 22, a member 30 also being provided for pressing the panel tightly against the support 12. The member 30, as shown, is a bar welded to the head of the bolt 18 and is prevented from rotation by projections 34 on the under side of the block 16. To prevent the plate 24 slipping under the strips 10, grooves 28 and provided adjacent the walls or ridges 22 to receive the lower edges of the strips. If the strips 10 are other than parallel in the panel the walls or ridges 22 are arranged at a corresponding angle.
