Abstract

740,030. Drying apparatus. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER AKT.-GES. Feb. 17, 1954 [Feb. 21, 1953], No. 4688/54. Class 34(2). Apparatus for drying materials in vacuo has, in an evacuated chamber 1, an endless conveyer 2 above which are gas-heated radiant heater tubes 9, and a surface 11, heated by a steam coil 15, along which the partly dried material stripped from the conveyer 2 by a brushroller 10 is conveyed by a scraper belt 12, the material falling on to another surface 16 heated by a steam coil 20 and being conveyed therealong by the return run of belt 12. Dried material is removed from the chamber by means of a bucket wheel 21. A second brush roll 17 cleans the belt 2 completely.
