In a hydraulically-driven machine oil is drawn through a pipe 3 by a pump 2 and delivered by way of pipes 4, 7 to one or more hydraulic cylinders, during the working period, for subsequent return to a storage container, but during intervals between working, a slide valve in a housing 6 is reversed whereby the oil passes through a pipe 8 into a chamber 9, from which part of the oil passes through pipes 13 to various lubrication points, the remainder of the oil passing up through a pipe 10 and down through a pipe 12 to the storage chamber. A throttle valve may be provided in the pipe 12. Oil is filtered before being returned to the pump 2.
