Abstract
739,036. Vehicle bodies. SCHLEEF, A. Dec. 10, 1953, No. 34404/53. Class 108 (1). A vehicle has sides 2 and ends 3, 4 provided at their lower edges with rails 11 having hinge parts 10 for rotation about hinge-pins 9 carried by a longitudinallyslidable rod 7 mounted in bearings 6 provided under the floor 1. At their upper edges the side walls 2 are provided with rails 13 carrying bars 17 about which the wall rotates when the body is tipped and the hinge parts 10 released by withdrawing pins 9 when the rod 7 is actuated. Above the walls are mounted extensions 5 which are retained in position by the hooks 20 pivotally mounted on pins 19 secured to the extension so that they may be dropped down as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 6 or removed completely. The tail-gate 4 is provided with fastening elements comprising hook members 27 which engage the ends of the rods 17 carried by the sides 2 and are actuated by an eccentric 25 pivoted at 24 to the tail gate.
