Abstract
738,902. Drinking-appliances for animals. FISHER FOUNDRIES, Ltd. May 14, 1954 [May 14, 1953], No. 13503/53. Class 5 (2). In an animal drinking-bowl of the kind adapted to be fitted in a cowstall and to be automatically supplied with water up to a predetermined level, a seating is provided adapted to make a liquid-tight fit on the watersupply pipe, a nozzle in the seating being adapted to make connection between the pipe and a chamber in the wall of the bowl. An arm 6 in the bowl 1 opens a valve 4 when depressed by the snout of an animal to permit water to pass from a chamber 3 supplied from a pipe 19 by way of a nozzle 15 secured in an arcuate seating 10 carried by a sleeve 9 screwing into an aperture in the lower wall of the chamber. The seating 10 co-operates with a corresponding part 12 to form a clamp enabling the bowl to be supported from the pipe which extends across the stall. The upper end of the bowl may be supported from a rail 20. Alternatively, the bowl may be supported on a wall of the stall, and the parts 9, 10, 15 be mounted in the upper wall of the chamber for connection to an upper water-supply pipe.
