Abstract
737,467. Whistles. CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE. Julv 8,1952 [July 10, 1951], No. 17240/52. Class 13. A generator of sound and ultra-sound waves for industrial purposes consists of a resonating chamber 8 having a whistle edge 3 along its open side, a nozzle 10 having a slot-shaped outlet to direct a thin sheet of fluid on to the whistle edge 3, an auxiliary chamber 20 opposed to the resonating chamber 8 and having the edge 2 farthest from the nozzle 10 at a greater distance from the nozzle than the whistle edge 3, and a horn 15, the walls of which start from the edges 2, 3. The chambers 8, 20 and the nozzle 10 are of annular form and are coaxial with the hom 15, the walls of which are solids of revolution.
