Abstract

1413059 Circumcision instruments M HONJYO 18 Dec 1973 58595/73 Heading A5R A circumcision instrument comprises a plate 1 having a circular opening 2 therein, a plurality of screws or bolts 3 being located around said opening, and a flanged tube 5 arranged to be moved towards and secured against said plate by passing the screws or bolts through corresponding holes in flange 4 and engaging the screws or bolts with nuts 6. In use, the instrument is placed on the penis and surplus skin is drawn out between the bottom of the tube and the plate, the nuts then being tightly screwed up so as to crush the skin under the bottom edge of said tube. The surplus skin is then cut off along the crushed portion, the wound edges being thereby temporarily joined and there being no bleeding. The breadth of the crushed portion of skin varies according to the position of the instrument on the penis.
