Abstract
737,301. Electromagnetic relays. COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELEPHONES. Aug. 25, 1953 [Aug. 29, 1952], No. 23401/53. Class 38 (5). A relay comprises a non-magnetic metal frame 1 having a forwardly extending arm slotted at 7 to receive a shoulder 4 of a U-shaped magnet core 2 energized by coils 32. A groove 3 in the core 2 receives the lower end of a permanent magnet 5 retained by a lug 8 of the frame 1. The upper ends of the core 2 and magnet 5 are received in openings formed in a non-magnetic support plate 9 having lugs 11 by which it is fixed with screws 10 to the frame 1. An insulating member 12 fixed by screws 13 to the frame 1 carries support plates 18 between which an armature-carrying spring blade 16 is clamped by screws 17, the armature 21 having lugs riveted to lobes 15 of the blade. By loosening the screws 17 the blade 16 can be moved between the supports 18 to vary the air gap. Bosses 30 on the underside of the member 12 co-operate with a V-formation 29 in the frame 1 whereby upon loosening screws 13 the member 12 may be rotated slightly so that the armature 21 may be either symmetrically disposed with respect to the core 2 or it may be asymmetrical and have a return torque produced by the stress in the blade 16. Contact blades 22 carried by the armature co-operate with fixed contact blades 25 adjustable by screws 28.
