Abstract

735,432. Sieves. FOLEY MANUFACTURING CO. April 15, 1952, No. 9398/52. Class 117. In a flour &c. sifter comprising a cupshaped container having a sieve in the bottom with a semi-rotary agitator operated by a trigger in the container handle, the sieve/agitator unit is removable from the container for cleaning. As shown the sieve/agitator unit has cross-brace members 24 attached to the sieve by a crimped on metal edging. A projecting tongue 28 on the cross-brace passes through a slot in the container to support the unit on one side and the other side is releasably supported by a blade-spring latch 61. In an alternative arrangement, Figs. 9-16 (not shown), the spring latch is replaced by a sliding bolt on the cross-brace entering a slot in the container.
