Abstract

733,479. X-ray tubes. GENERAL RADIOLOGICAL, Ltd. April 23, 1953 [Feb. 19, 1952], No. 4382/52. Class 39 (1). A rotating anode X-ray tube the envelope of which is in the main a surface of revolution about the axis of rotation of the anode, has a window set in a part g of the envelope projecting at a greater distance from the axis of the tube than the neighbouring portions c of the envelope, to minimize the effects of wall charges on the window. The window f may be of glass, or a plate of beryllium or other metal permeable to X-rays may be sealed into the end of the projecting part of the envelope. If a metal window is used it may be connected to a source of E.M.F.
