Abstract

733,045. Toy guns. SIGG, J. A. Aug. 14, 1953, No. 22480/53. Class 132(3). The barrel element of a toy gun is given repeated reciprocatory movement by a single trigger action and a sound producer is simultaneously actuated. On drawing trigger 5 rearwardly against the action of a spring 10, the teeth 8 of a trigger slide 4 cause a pinion 16 to rotate, and a tooth 15 on a slidable barrel 3 normally urged rearwardly by a spring 28 is urged forwardly and then released by each successive tooth on the pinion 16. Disc members 29 loosely mounted on the barrel simulate a recoil effect and one end of a leaf spring 23 engaged by the pinion teeth acts as a sounder when the spring strikes a projection 21. On release of the trigger, pinion trunnions 17 move to the forward ends of slots 18 and the pinion 16, being disengaged from the tooth 15, is free to be rotated by the teeth 8. A leaf spring 19 secured to the barrel 3 returns the pinion 16 to the position shown after the trigger has completed its forward return movement.
