Class 132(3) The forward part of a barrel of a toy gun accommodates a number of ball projectiles 7 which are urged forwardly by a light spring 8 such that the front ball is held against a synthetic rubber diaphragm 10 having a central aperture smaller than the balls. A piston rod 14 is normally urged forwardly by a spring 15 and the rear part of the piston rod is cranked downwardly for the part 14b to slide in guides formed in the stock 4 and the part 14a to lie between a pair of plate members 17, 18. An enlargement 24 on the rear part of the piston rod engages behind a shoulder on a lever 25 when the piston rod is moved rearwardly by a bolt rod 19; the lever is connected to a trigger 29. The gun is loaded by forcing the balls 7 successively through the aperture in the diaphragm 10 and is cocked by drawing the bolt rearwardly by a knob 23, the bolt returning forwardly by a spring 20. On pulling the trigger, the piston rod is released and is driven forward until arrested by a rubber buffer 30. The air compressed by the forward movement of the piston forces the front ball against the diaphragm and through the diaphragm aperture. The remaining balls are moved forwardly by a spring 8 ready for discharging in turn.
