732,979. Laminated semi - stiff fabrics. WARD, BROOKE & CO., Ltd., [formerly HORTA & WARD, Ltd.], and WARD, L. E. June 22, 1953 [July 3, 1952], No. 16768/.52. Class 140. Laminated semi-stiff fabrics and articles are made by immersing an assembly consisting of two fabrics and an interlining containing a cellulose derivative in a mixture of industrial methylated spirit and ethyl acetate, hotpressing to unite the layers, treating the product with a fluorescent brightening agent which is fixed with sodium sulphate, and finally drying and pressing. The interlining may be pretreated with ultramarine blue. The pressure surfaces or rollers may be embossed so as to give a piquet appearance or other pattern.
