Abstract
649,404. Pictures ; ornamenting. FISHMAN, P. Sept. 7, 1948, No. 23520. [Classes 11, .16 and 93] {Also in Group XVI] Pictures and/or legends are formed in books, on Christmas cards, greeting cards and the like by making a design, picture or decoration within the outline of the picture by applying adhesive to a selected area or areas of the design and flocking them with loose dyed fibres to form a raised pile. The fibres are cut to the required length and are produced from silk, rayon, wool or cotton. The adhesive used, which may be tinted, may be flour paste, but preferably has a cellulose base and is pigmented. The unflocked areas may be wholly or in part tinted e.g. by colour printing. In one example a dress as shown is drawn and adhesive applied e.g. by the silk screen process except on the collar D, cuffs D\ elbow D<SP>2</SP>, buttons D4 and lines at D3. Coloured fibres are blown on to the adhesive and the dress is cut out and fixed to a coloured cut-out doll by means of the tabs G. Other clothes such as a coat or hat may be similarly made.
