[Also in Group XXIII] A resilient coupling is shown between the motor 2 and flexible disc 16 of a hand or similai abraiding and polishing tool and comprises a mass of rubber-like material 15 bonded to driving and driven heads 5, 9 having radially directed flanges 8, 14 at their inner ends and peripheral flanges 6, 10 The coupling permits non-concentric rotation of the plate 16 when used for abrading, to prevent scoring of the worked surface. The flexible disc 16 may have an abrasive disc 18, a rotary brush (not shown) or wire brushes (also not shown) secured thereto. The coupling may be applied to stationary grinding or finishing machines in which the work to be treated is held against the disc 18.
