730,785. Baskets. REID, J. S., and CAMERON, R. Aug. 27, 1953 [Aug. 29, 1952], No. 21796/52. Class 133. Potato baskets of the kind formed of chain link netting b reinforced by transversely extending stout reinforcing wires c, and a stout wire rim a bent to form two parallel sides and rounded ends, have wire rods e threaded through the selvedges of the netting extending parallel to the sides of the rim, the rods being anchored to the transverse reinforcing wires c or to the rim or to both. The rods e are passed through knuckles c<SP>1</SP> securing the wires c and the ends knuckled round the rim at f. Alternatively, the rods may be welded or laced to the rim a and wires c. Semi-circular wires secured to the rounded ends of the basket have the ends of the chain links secured thereto, the ends of the rim forming handles. Specifications 591,333, [Group I], and 612,152 are referred to.
