729,899. Rolling. LOEWY, E. Nov. 30, 1953, No. 33229/53. Class 83 (4). A turning device for rolled bars B, Fig. 2, comprises an apertured guide 17 for holding the bars and a power-actuated linkage for turning the guide through a predetermined angle while it is lifted and lowered. The linkage comprises parallel arms 20, 21 supporting the guide 17 and moved up and down to rotate the guide by a fluid-pressure cylinder 40 through a cross-link 34. A second cross-link 29 maintains the arms parallel and a link 25A connected to the underside of the guide 17 and pivoted on a fixed bracket 26 causes the guide 17 to be raised and lowered as it turns. The cross-links 29, 34 are pivoted on a sleeve 31 which is slidable on a pin 33 to permit the vertical movement.
