Abstract

729,896. Handles for clubs, rackets &c. BEST & GEE PROPRIETARY, Ltd. Nov. 9, 1953, No. 30970/53. Class 132(2). [Also in Group XXIII] A grip sleeve for the handle of a sporting implement comprises a tubular body 6 of resilient mouldable material having an integral leading portion composed of a skive band 9, contiguous to the body and which externally converges, from its follow end to its leading end, and a cuff 10 which joins the skive band in a waist line 11 and which internally and externally diverges, from the waistline towards its own leading end. The sleeve is closed at its follow end by an apertured diaphragm which allows the escape of air when the sleeve is drawn on to a handle previously coated with adhesive, the cuff, which is preferably less acutely divergent externally than internally, facilitating the operation and being removed by cutting or tearing at the wastline when the sleeve is in position on the handle. The sleeve may be moulded in different thicknesses to obviate the necessity of providing handles of different sizes.
