Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0729891/IV (b)/1> wherein R is H or an alkyl radical. The compounds, which have anti-tubercular activity, are prepared by reacting an isonicotinic hydrazide or its salt in aqueous solution with phosgene, giving the hydrochloride from which the base may be liberated. The examples describe the preparation of 2-(41-pyridyl)-4,5-dihydro - 1,3,4 - oxadiazol - 5 - one and the (21-methyl-41-pyridyl) derivative.
