[Also in Group XVIII] In an appliance for weighing livestock and of the kind in which a pen is suspended by a spring balance from a supporting-bar arranged over a framework, the pen is held against movement by a pair of links arranged one at each top corner of the pen and connected to one or both sides of the framework, and at least two links arranged one at each end of the bottom of the pen and respectively connected to opposite sides of the pen and the remote side of the framework. The framework consists of two U-shaped side members 1 supporting a bar 5 approximately midway of their length. A sleeve 22, rockable on the bar 5 by means of a handle 23, carries a spring-balance 7 from which is suspended, by means of a ring 13 and a rod 11, a pen formed of two U-shaped end-frames 8 secured to the ends of the rod 11, side bars 9, 10, and a floor, the sides and ends being closed by wire mesh. The pen is held against movement by links 12 connecting opposite ends of the rod 11 to the framework and links 16, 17 connected at opposite ends to opposite members of the frame and to the respectively remote side members of the pen.
