Abstract

Relates to a system similar to that described in Specification 708,723 wherein materials for road-making are mixed by extracting predetermined amounts of each material from different bins, each bin having its outlet regulated by a paddle driven by an electric motor. In the prior arrangement, each motor is controlled by a combination selector switch, formed by a number of manually-operated change-over switches, for setting up the amount of angular rotation to be performed by the motor, and this switch arrangement co-operates with a uniselector switch of the Post Office type adapted for self-stopping operation or actuation by impulses derived from a motor-driven contact. The uniselectors individual to each motor are now replaced by a single uniselector which controls the motors in turn by means of a further selector switch, so that, when the uniselector has completed its operation in connection with one bin, it delivers an impulse to the further switch for operation of the next bin. Means may be provided to prevent operation when the total amount set on the combination selector switches does not correspond with a full batch.
