728,849. Garments for invalids. McPHAIL, M. Oct. 22, 1953 [Oct. 25, 1952], No. 26851/52. Class 141. [Also in Group VI] A body harness comprises a vest-like garment opening only at the rear and having a slide fastener with a locking slide for drawing and locking the edges of the rear opening together so that the wearer cannot open the garment, straps being attached to the garment for securing it to a bed, chair or the like. A sleeveless jacket having a front part and a back part 5 has a back opening which is closed by a slide fastener having a locking slide 7. A ring 11 is provided so that the slide fastener can be padlocked in closed position. A cushion cover 18 for the reception of a cushion 19 is secured along one edge to one side seam 15 of the garment and, after closing the back opening, is folded over the back 5 of the garment and secured to the other side seam 16 by hooks 23 and eyes and press-studs 24. Straps 27 for securing to a bed or chair are attached to the side seams 15, 16 of the garment. The garment may be lined with sponge rubber or made of inflatable fabric.
