Abstract

728,477. Reservoir pads. EVANS, R. L. Feb. 25, 1953 [Feb. 28, 1952], No. 5330/53. Class 19. A reservoir pad more particularly for applying liquid to the hair, comprises a flexible reservoir on the top of which is fixed an applicator-pad made of sponge having pores 95 per cent of which are not exceeding 2 mm. in diameter and preferably mostly not less than 1 mm. in diameter. The reservoir bottle shown is made of polythene and has a plastic holder 4 held by a friction fit in its neck. A membrane in the neck of the holder has an aperture which limits the flow of liquid into the pad when the reservoir is compressed. The sponge is preferably made of a hydrophilic material such as regenerated cellulose or polyvinyl alcohol.
