Abstract

726,653. Electric lighting fittings. STUDHOLME, J., and BENJAMIN ELECTRIC, Ltd. Dec. 20, 1951 [Sept. 21, 1950], No. 23183/50. Class 75 (4). In an electric lignting fitting wherein one or more discharge lamps 14 are supported in a reflector 16 for operation in conjunction with filament ballast lamps 17, the light from the discharge and ballast lamps is directed respectively in substantially opposite directions. As shown discharge lamp holders 13 are supported from end plates 12 held by clips 15 on flanges 10a of the mouth of a channel 10 and a ballast lamp holder is secured to each end wall of the channel 10. A downwardly facing trough reflector 16 is detachably secured to the reflector mouth and reflectors 19, 20 are secured above and below each ballast lamp 11, flaps 10b being cut from the side walls of the channel 10 adjacent each lamp and bent outwardly to provide baffles which direct light from the ballast lamps upwardly when the fitting is suspended.
