726,249. Bedsteads ; furniture combinations. WOOLLCOTT, L. Oct. 14, 1953 [April 2, 1953], No. 9219/53. Classes 52 (2) and 52 (3). A bed which may be folded into cabinet or casing and which, when folded, may incorporate a table comprises two channel forms 2 opposed to one another preferably by being hinged at 3 to a base 1 and adapted to be folded together to form a vertically divided casing, the forms 2 when opened together with the base 1 forming a bed surface for the reception of a mattress 8 and bed clothes. The outer sides of the channel forms 2 are blanked off by panels 6, 7 which form the end legs of the bedstead and the panel 7 may have secured to it a further panel 5 to serve as a table top, this top together with the panels 6, 7 extending beyond the channel forms 2, when the latter are closed, to provide room for the knees of persons sitting at the table, while a recess 11 at the base may also be formed to accommodate the feet of the persons so sitting.
