Abstract
725,200. Agricultural implements. ALLISCHALMERS MANUFACTURING CO. April 20, 1953 [May 1, 1952], No. 10783/53. Class 6 (1). An agricultural machine comprises a tractor 1 and a disc harrow 16 connected together by a draft device and lift mechanism, the draft device comprising a member 17 pivotally connected to the tractor and to the harrow and a spring-loaded lost motion connection between the member 17 and the harrow frame effective to impose a torque upon the frame in such a direction as to restrain upward rocking of the rear end of the frame relative to the member 17. The lost motion connection comprises a rod 44. adjustably mounted on a bracket 33 on the member 17 and provided with an adjustable collar 61 which may bear on a bracket 43 mounted on the harrow frame. A spring 56 bears on the underside of the bracket 43 and on an adjustable seating 57. The harrow is raised by a power ram 8 through a pair of levers 6 and chains 7.
