Abstract

724,690. Winding yarn. HALSTENBACH, W., ROSENKRANZ, C. G., and PLUTTE, A. March 2, 1953 [March 3, 1952], No. 5772/53. Class 120 (2). The traverse lever 5 of a cop, &c., winding machine pivoted at 7 to a housing g advanced longitudinally of the winding spindle, and having a yarn guide eye 6, is oscillated by a cam 2 on a shaft 1 to build a thread reserve or bunch. A lever 12, pivoted at 7, and spring-urged at 9 and 13 towards the lever 5, is prevented from movement by a locking member 17 on a lever 18 pivoted at 19 to the housing g and furnished with a tooth 24. A further lever 31, also pivoted at 7, moves in unison with the lever 5 by reason of a stop 36 thereon. A spring urged pawl 29 on the lever 31 thus advances a ratchet wheel 26, forming a counting device, until a stop 25 thereon reaches the tooth 24 which is depressed to release the lock 17 and allow the spring 13 to bring the traverse device in contact with the main oscillating cam 3 on the shaft 1. A spiral spring (not shown) then rotates the ratchet wheel 26 back until the stop 25 contacts an adjustable limit stop 251. A spring-urged detent 21 prevents backward rotation of the ratchet 26 when acted upon by the pawl 29.
