Abstract
724,360. Weighing apparatus. METTLER, E., [trading as METTLER FABRIK FUR ANALYSENWAAGEN, E.]. June 19, 1953, [Jan. 21, 1953.] No. 17101/53. Class 143. The invention relates to a balance in which the beam 3 (preferably having a pendulum weight on its right-hand end) is pivoted at 4 on the column 1, and the goods pan 8 is above the beam and carried on a support 6 pivoted on the beam at 5, the support 6 being constrained to parallel movement by a link 10. According to the invention, the link 10 is connected to the support 6 and the column 1 by cardan joints. As shown, the joint 15 has two axes of rotation, viz. one 11 parallel to the pivots 5, 6 and one 12 vertical; while joint 24 has three axes of rotation, one 19 parallel to pivots 5, 6, one 20 parallel to axis 12, and one 21 horizontal. The axes 11, 19 are preferably constituted by ball-bearing devices.
